There is a quiet energy in the city before the sun comes up. My day usually starts around 6 AM with a workout and a podcast. Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Founders by David Senra and The Mel Robbins Podcast. They both talk about building something that lasts, about the mindset it takes to push through the noise.
That idea of "building something that lasts" is exactly what was on my mind when I started Pimpinicchio New York. Sustainability used to be a very quiet, almost beige conversation. But I wanted it to be loud. I wanted it to be intelligent.
The Mindset of Design
When I’m sketching, I’m not just thinking about the shape of a bag. I’m thinking about the person carrying it. I want our hardware, the signature spikes and chains, to feel like armor. In a city that demands so much of your energy, these metallic elements are a reminder of your own strength. When you see the high-polish gold or silver, you're seeing the skeleton of the design.
The White & Yellow Evolution
Lately, I've been drawn to the White & Yellow Combo Bag. It’s the perfect example of what I call "Material Intelligence."
-
The Pop: The yellow against the stark Winter White is a reminder that ethical fashion can be high-voltage. It doesn't have to be muted.
-
The Science: It’s crafted from our Bio Pineapple Leather, a material that takes agricultural waste and transforms it into a high-performance skin.
-
The Feeling: It’s lightweight but looks like a heavy sculptural object. It’s a piece that feels charged, ready for whatever the day brings.
For me, style is just an extension of how you live and what you value. It's about making choices that feel powerful and intelligent, whether that's the podcast you listen to at 6 AM or the bag you carry to a meeting.
